Carib Bight · Roatan, Honduras
A private micro-resort for families, divers, and those who refuse ordinary escapes.
Far from the crowds
Tucked into the Honduran jungle on a pristine bay, El Palacio Rosa is a world away from the cruise congestion of Roatan's west end — which has become what every Caribbean port eventually becomes: crowded, commercialized, and indistinguishable from the last stop on the circuit. Carib Bight is what Roatan used to be everywhere. Three reefs, the Roly Poly — a WWII naval cargo shipwreck grounded here in 1945 — and 400-year-old pirate tunnels, all a few paddle strokes from the dock. A private sandy beach, an infinity pool lit up over the bay, a skiff and kayaks waiting at the water. La Rosa Dive & Fish for everything below the surface. La Rosa restaurant for everything after — fresh catch off the grill, a cold drink, and a sunset you didn't have to book a table for. The days don't fill up here. They open up.
La Rosa Dive & Fish — a private, guest-focused dive shop with tanks and air available — plus 30+ park sites within 15 minutes of the dock. No crowded dive boats. No waiting.
Kayaks off the dock. Paddle the 400-year-old pirate tunnels. Sloths, toucans, and parrots at the jungle sanctuary. Tour pickups right from the backyard.
One Property · Three Ways to Stay
One property on Carib Bight, two homes stacked on the hillside: the Pink Palace up top, the Bay Suite tucked beneath it at the water's edge. Book either one privately — or take over the whole thing.
4 Bedroom · 3 Bath · 4,600 SF
A two-level home connected by an internal stairwell — a rooftop primary suite with the best sunset views on the property, plus three more bedrooms below.
2 Bedroom · 1 Bath · 800 SF
A walkout apartment beneath the main home. Step outside and you're steps from the dock. Direct water access at any hour.
6 Bedroom · 4 Bath · 5,400 SF
The Pink Palace and the Bay Suite together — every floor, every view, every inch. No other overnight guests on the property.
"Come as Strangers, Leave as Friends."
Open Most Nights · Live Band or DJ a Couple Times a Month
Our dockside restaurant, hanging over the bay. Open most nights for meals and drinks, music low in the background, and a live band or DJ a couple times a month. Breakfast, dinner, a private meal for your group — just ask. La Rosa is also your front desk for the island: local tours, dory water-taxi service, and — through La Rosa Dive & Fish — diving and deep sea fishing, all booked from the same bar stool.
What to do
30+ sites. Private tanks. Secret seamounts. From beginners getting certified to experienced divers going solo — the reef is your backyard.
Wahoo, mahi, grouper, and snapper are all minutes from our dock — no long run offshore required. Add tuna, tarpon, bonefish, and permit on the right day. Troll, drop, jig, or fly with guides who grew up fishing these waters. Pickup right at the dock. La Rosa Dive & Fish books it all.
Kayak or paddleboard through a network of creek-tunnels carved between the island points and offshore keys by pirates 400 years ago — used to hide from the British Navy. One of the most unexpected highlights of the trip.
Jungle sanctuaries with sloths, toucans, and monkeys. Ziplines. Tropical gardens. All arranged with pickups right from the property.
The bay faces west. Sunsets arrive on schedule almost every night. The infinity pool puts you directly in their path.
When the spring trade winds arrive, Carib Bight delivers consistent 15-knot winds across flat protected water — a combination kiteboarders specifically travel to find. Bring your gear, plan around April–June.
A hammock. A cold drink. The sound of the bay. No cruise ships, no hawkers, no itinerary. Just Roatan as it was meant to be.

Getting here
El Palacio Rosa sits on Carib Bight — a quiet, protected bay surrounded by jungle, far from the cruise crowds of West Bay. Half a dozen restaurants are reachable by dory from the dock: the world-famous Hole in the Wall, Tiger's Bar in the Blue Lagoon mangroves, On The Rocks through the pirate tunnels (with a resident monkey), and The Salty Dog and Happy Landing in Oak Ridge. Minutes away: the famous Blue Lagoon and a turtle sanctuary with sea turtles, lobster, tarpon, and snook. Fly into Roatan International (RTB). We'll help arrange the rest.
